John Candy was one of the funniest actors I've ever seen. I grew up watching Candy in Great Outdoors, Uncle Buck, and so on. He was fantastic at what he did and it's a tribute to him that people are still celebrating his life 15 years after his death. We love you John Candy. Bamboo is my business!!!!!!!!

i grew up watching john on sctv and his movies...i enjoyed everyone of them and still like them. he had a great personality and was really smart. god rest his beautiful soul

John Candy is a comic legend. Summer rental for me defines comedy. The simple but hilarious scene of John walking on the beach with the cooler dripping water over everyone is classic shit!...Good Bless John Candy!

Still sad to this day about the greatest comic/actors passing. Watched a dvd of The Great Outdoors last night with my 15 year old son so he could see who I have been talking about all these years!! He made a comment about several of Johns one liners I still use to this day....he was like... "Dad, is that where you learned that from?"...made me smile and proudly admit I stole it from THE Man!!

the sad thing is,john knew he had to lose weight,but i remember in an interveiw he gave,it was his size,that got him work,everyone loved a big john candy,and he was afraid in someways,that the work might dry up,if he were to lose weight.and also for financial reasons,he took on alot of roles,some major, some minor. he is missed by a lot of people that is true. but please answer me this,i did`nt know that he touched so many people,i`ve read almost every comment on this site,and i thought it was just me that felt so strongly for this great guy,was is it his kind face,the wave at the end of uncle buck,that is the sad reminder,or was it his big frame,we all grew to love. rest assured he left us all too early but he still lives on in our hearts,and thoughts,and through film. see ya big guy.

John Candy is the best actor is the world. I think that he's best in Uncle Buck and Cool Runnings, the two of my most loved movies. It was a shame he died so young. In responce to "fran" - you will actually find that John did try very hard to loose weight and to improve his condition and infact he did loose weight and he even stoped smoking. It's not easy for everyone and some people have some real problems. You should have probably done some extra research on Candy before posting your comment. Candy will live on forever!
