A unique audio recording made by Michael Scott Edgecombe of a 1983 interview with John Candy.
"In eighth grade, my least favorite teacher assigned us a project to interview someone as part of our journalism course. Being a naive young man I looked up John Candy in the phone book and found his answering service...this was post-Stripes and at the peak of SCTV...I left three messages in the deepest voice I could muster to sound serious and three messages later he called back! My mom said it was some guy named John and when I heard his voice my heart skipped several beats...he kindly agreed and put me on with his agent to arrange things...". |
