All i know is, there's never going to be another like him. What a funny man. Wish he was still with us.

I grew up laughing at and admiring John's movies. As an adult I have very severe health issues but I can always count on John's movies to make me feel better even if it's only temporary. I miss him and will always love his talented movies.

What is there to say that's not been said. Fantastic films and he made even the not so good ones great. Can't believe it's been 21 years since we lost him. Seemed like a really lovely man and a fantastic talent for mixing comedy and pathos in many roles.

My wife and i just finished watching PT&A.. Its late at night here in Brisbane Australia.. We checked out online and found this amazing website.. John Candy will live on forever as the closing song's words said" every time you go away you take a piece of me with you" well this is so true as everyone has lost a true comedic genius and one who could act.. We believe if we could of ever had the fortune of meeting you-you would of been the most genuine person. Long live the memory of this great gifted larger than life man.

John made me both laugh and cry. His incredible knack for humor AND pathos I have only seen equaled by 'The Great One'- Jackie Gleason. Have missed him since his passing but what a legacy he left for us. Thanks Ox!

I've yet to see a movie John candy starred in that I didn't enjoy. Being a bigger gentleman myself I have grown to respect him all the more for making it in Hollywood despite his size.. His comedy and fun loving characters have warmed my heart, and cracked my funny bone. He is certainly missed in my life. I remember reading the people magazine regarding his death, I almost cried which seems silly, because no actors from todays era have ever made such an impact on me.. THe baby boomer generation of actors seem to have been our peak performers. no generation after them have had so many incredible stars with such staying power...

I first came across John after watching the films Stripes and National Lampoon's Vacation in the early '80's. It was obvious that he was a major comic talent... to be proved in later films such as Splash, Uncle Buck, The Great Outdoors, Cool Runnings and of course Trains, Planes and Automobiles, where his portrayal of shower curtain ring salesman Del Griffith, a man hiding immense heartache and loneliness behind a front of bravura and wisecracks remains one of the most underrated screen performances ever.

In an increasingly materialistic world, it's gratifying to read that no-one has a bad word to say about John, and there is not even a whiff of scandal about him either, remarkable in an industry noted for it.

Next Wednesday, 4th March, it's 21 years since John left us. Where has the time gone? The world became a sadder, greyer place with his passing.

RIP John, I'm sure you're still making 'em laugh up there. You truly were one of life's Genuine Good Guys.

I just got done watching Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. I've been a John Candy fan since I was a kid. As you sit and watch his movies you realize how clean his comedy was compared to today's. I think that says volumes about how good he really was. He is still missed by tons of people. His comedy and films are truly timeless. I miss you big guy. Thanks for the memories.

Thank you for shining your light in this world for so many to see. Your gift is still with us.

Soph Tue, 3 Feb '15
Rest in peace, man. You were a phenomenal actor and seemed like a marvelous person. Your laughter was contagious and your humor got me in hysterics when I thought a smile was unattainable. The world became a little bit gloomier without you.
