John Candy was such a terrific actor and all of my family will remember him. He brought a lot of laughter to us all. The Great Outdoors, Uncle Buck, and so man other great movies. We just watched Uncle Buck for about the 11th time. He is truly missed.

Grew up in rural Ontario, and would watch SCTV on Global (channel 6!). John Candy was highlight, his humor was perfect for the intended audience! Thought that his Hercule Poirot a highlight. Do wish that there was a way to remove the laugh track from the original SCTV videos... doesn't hold up well 35 yrs later (IMHO).

It may sound silly, but John was the type of actor who was so good at what he did, who came across as so genuine, and who made you feel so happy, that he feels like a part of your family. I cried when he died and I miss him to this very day. What a blessing to have had him to make us laugh...if only for ashort time.

John Candy was a wonderful, gifted actor. I was 14 when I first saw him in Planes Trains and automobiles. I'm 39 today and still love him. he's the best actor out there. I laugh every time I a watch him. My favorite is The great outdoors where he plays Chet Ripley. WE love you John Candy you will always be in our hearts. I grew up watching you.
