Growing up in the 1980's watching his movies, John Candy was like a father figure to me. My all-time favourite John Candy movie is Summer Rental. Thank you for making me laugh and touching my heart. God bless you and your family! The only loss bigger than ours as fans, is theirs, as family. XO |

John Candy always cheered me up in his movies. I grew up watching him. He made average movies but his petsonality and characters he played had a feel good sense to them. I will watch almost any john candy movie if given the chance. He is dearly missed for sure. |

There will NEVER be a talent like John Candy. I think it says EVERYTHING about who he was that his last night was spent serving a meal to those around him. What a marvelous, honorable legacy to leave to his children and to the world. Thank you, Canada, for sharing John Candy with us in America. We will always love him. |

Grew up in rural Ontario, and would watch SCTV on Global (channel 6!). John Candy was highlight, his humor was perfect for the intended audience! Thought that his Hercule Poirot a highlight.
Do wish that there was a way to remove the laugh track from the original SCTV videos... doesn't hold up well 35 yrs later (IMHO). |
