I have watched many of John Candy movies over the years and now as I near "60" I Love his sense of timing and
being able to pull off the laughs with perfect timing. He is Greatly Missed!!!! |

I will always fondly remember those late Friday nights during the early 1980's watching John on syndicated SCTV reruns and eventual cross-over to the silver screen. Seeing and embracing the comic ingenuity beneath his 'common-guy' exterior shell was easy. He could do it all....make us laugh, cry, cringe and cheer and remind us that we are human. He spoke to me in roles like no other. Mr Candy was a gift to us that only comes around once in a lifetime. |

Myself and family love him so much! Every Thanksgiving we watch "Plane, Trains and Automobiles". If I'm feeling down one of my boys watches it with me. We have shared this movie with new generations of people who also love him, even though he is no longer with us. What a great comedian and friend,(from what I've been told), I'm sure he was and loved and missed dearly. |

Tremendous charm and talent. Amazing how he could take a plain line and make it funny. I have tried and failed to explain his greatness to others because i can' t deliver his words the same way. You have to watch him directly. And his serious moments in Splash Cool Runnings Uncle Buck and Planes Trains and autos are so.touching and real. Thanks for sharing |

I grew up watching almost everything you associated yourself with Mr. Candy, and I will always remember the lessons of comedic timing that you mastered all so well. Someday your teachings will help me become what I always wished! Thank you |

We shared the same birth date, and I was also born in Toronto. I think we lost a great actor and a great man far too soon. I am just sorry I never got the opportunity to meet him. |

The fans love John, but did not really know the man. I first met him when he was around 5 years old. His uncle Ken married my sister Barbara. Many good times were spent at the family home on Woodville and often in Scarborough at my sister's home. He is dearly missed by all who knew him. |
