I am just starring Cool Runnings and wanted to show my girls what he looked like without the beard (I was telling them about other shows he was in and they didn't remember who he was until I showed them his clean shaven face). He was a great actor and he is missed. Gone too soon.:-( |

I was 18 years old and worked in a French restaurant in Aurora, ON. John and a group of people would come in for lunch and occasionally for dinner. I remember they were usually the loudest table in the place and always had the most fun. I had a lot of fun at work the days they came in. |

He was one of the funniest actors I have eber seen. He also had that warm side that made you like him even more. Even though my children weren't born until after John passed away they are are BIG John Candy fans since I turned them on to his films from when they were very little.
Rest In Peace.... |

Loved John's work. Just a great comic actor and I'm sure a wonderful dramatic actor. His SCTV work is epic. |

Love and miss you John! As the father of 3 teenagers, it's great to see them laugh and enjoy the same John Candy movies as I did. |

I still remember where I was when I heard of his death, fifteen years old and I was crushed. Sitting here watching Summer Rental and went to bed with Planes, Trains and Automobiles. |

Still very much missed even all these years later. I was always a massive fan and devestated when John died, but his legacy lives on and his work will be watched by many generations to come. I still love to watch and always will it's just so sad as I'm sure he had much more to give. Miss you lots xxx |

Just watched Uncle Buck again for the umpteenth time & felt sad that John isn't with us anymore. A really talented actor who was taken from us far too early. RIP xxx |

However many times I watch your movies, they always transport me back to a warm safe time when life was good and simple little things were enough to bring a smile to a face. Your charm and wit still bring tears and laughter, but always that sadness too of a great person gone too soon. Thanks for the memories. |

John, even after years have past, you are still sorely missed. You always had a way to make me laugh. You were a very sweet man, and I never miss a chance to watch a movie you made. Your characters in most of your movies could have been a guy we see everyday in real life, you just made what we would find annoying in real life so funny in you own great way. I pray when I am called home, I will meet you in heaven and you will spend eternity making me and everyone else in heaven laugh and have a great time. I just watched the Movie Great Outdoors, you were the man John, a very sweet, normal man who was one of the greatest talents of all time, and I thank God that I was around to see you make the funniest movies of all time. I never met you, but I deeply miss you John,
Rest In Peace and Thank You for all the joy you brought to us; We all will love and miss you forever. |
