I still get misty eyed at the end of "Plains Trains and Automobiles." You and your talents are deeply missed. |

On the day of John's funeral I had a group of friends round for movies and pizza. We watched Uncle Buck,Only the Lonely, Plains, Trains and Automobiles and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels during the evening/morning homage.
I don't have words for what a loss John "was" and "is" for us all.
Respect. |

Tonight I am watching "Only The Lonely" and thinking about John. I have all his movies and each time I see him I am reminded that life can be funny and that no matter everyone is someone no matter what size you are. Thanks John for making us laugh and for blessing us with your gifts. You are forever missed! Thanks |

Even out in the Arabian Gulf in the middle East The great John Candy is known, I'm a member of the Royal family of Bahrain Alkhalifa. I grew up watching the very talented john Candy perform his great acts on tv and moives, one of my favorites was Uncle Buck, i still remember getting driven to high school one morning in 1994 and hearing on our local radio 96.5 that John Candy has passed away, oh how i loved him in all of his great and funny roles.... We love you John Candy all over the world your movies have came into our homes and given us some great family times, with laughter and delight, we thank you for being the great man you were.... Rip and Inshallah you our i heaven smiling down on us =0) |

In February, 1979, I was working at the Burbank Studios lot on the additional scenes being filmed for Close Encounters of a Third Kind. We had a trailer with three parking spaces and used only two. One morning, a tall man wearing a trench coat and carrying a briefcase asked me if it would be all right to park in the extra spot. I though he was there to sell insurance or measure someone's office for carpet. Then I noticed it was John Candy who was filming "1941". Each morning he came and each morning he asked if it was OK to park. What a polite and immensely talented man. He invited me over once to watch a complicated scene where John Belushi's plane was crashing on "Hollywood Blvd". Like Belushi, he had so many more laughs to give us. |

Discovered SCTV and John on KHJ-TV in LA in the mid 70,s....I was absolutey hooked on Johnny LaRue...Hefty Neal and all the others overnight. My 21 yr old son has grown up on SCTV and finds the humor just as fresh today as it was 30 years ago to me... I hope others will continue to share the unique and innovative humor of John and continue to honor his memory with family and friends..and may the good lord take a liken to you and blow you up real good!...Don Walker |

John Candy was the best celebrity in my eyes. I grew up watching his movies, and cry every time I watch them. I feel like I lost a dear family member. Even though I never got the chance to meet him,or send letters. I miss you, John Candy. |

In my humble opinion, one of the finest dramatic actors. I watch and re-watch all his films to revisit his obvious passion and compassion. perhaps my all-time favorite scenes is his wave goodbye at the end of Uncle Buck. I miss you, John Candy. |
