Thank you for putting this excellent site together on John Candy. I have some of his films but am delighted to have the chance to see clips of so much of his material here. What a great actor John was. I grew up wathing him in the eighties and always found him a hilarious and warm character on screen. I was stunned when I heard the news on the radio back in '94 that my favourite actor was gone. Rest In Peace, John. Thanks for all the laughs.

It's hard to believe that John Candy has been gone for 17 years now. I just finished watching Stripes for the millionth time...Candy never gets old.

I just watched, for about the 150th time, "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" and realize what a treasure we lost when we lost John Candy. He was REAL and he was funny - and a wonderful actor. No one can take his place.

The world was never the same after John's passing.

Loved watching the guy in all his films, did not have to say anything to have you laughing, just the look on his face said it all.
Greats like this only come once in a lifetime, rest well John. His poor wife and children, God owes them.

I really enjoyed watching john's films, and my son and I watched uncle buck tonight, and it just as funny as the first time I saw it. It was quite a shock when I heard he passed, and it's hard to believe it's been 17 years. Still missed.

17 yrs has gone so fast. I still remember hearing the news of johns passing over the radio in Sydney and felt immediately saddened.such a natural, warm person on screen ,he could have only been an absolute gem off. Watching going berserk right now. RIP JC... U are an entertainment treasure !

Loved John Candy! Did not know that he was so accomplished.

Thanks JC!

I rememeber the day I heard the news while I was working at the Canadian EPCOT Pavillion in Walt Disney World. When we heard the news that we'd all lost someone truly special. JC certainly gave us amazing movies allowing us to step back in time and enjoy his smooth comedy providing some truly heath warming performances. Watched Stripes last week and earlier this evening I stumbled onto Uncle Buck....the still shot in the final scene really of JC waving bye really left me wanting more and missing his natural delivery. JC was big laughs, big smiles with big memories.

Any thoughts of a movie about JC....now that would be amazing!

Keep on laughing - DC
