I just loved John Candy and his larger hen life persona on screen. No actor has been able to fill the void created when he sadly left us in 1994. Uncle Buck, Cool Runnings and Planes, Trains and Automobiles were absolutely brilliant. We miss you big man! |

I love John Candy! My father was a big fan also. He looked and acted a lot like Johns characters. Dad passed away in 2005. So this site is special to me. Thanks! |

My family and I once again watched "Planes, Trains & Automobiles over the Thanksgiving holiday, as it has become somewhat of a family tradition to do so.
As a huge fan of John Candy, I've always loved the movie. Whenever I do watch John in this role, I'm reminded of what an amazing talent he was. Of course, he was brilliantly funny in every scene, but I am also struck by his acting range, particularly in the scene where he is being ridiculed by Steve Martin in the motel room. You can actually see and feel the pain he conveys in that moment.
John made every film he ever did much better by simply being in it. Considering all the horrible crap that is served up these days as "comedy films" from the likes of Adam Sandler and Will Ferrell and others, I miss him that much more!
Thank you, John, for making every Thanksgiving that much more special year after year for me and my family! |

Watching P,T,&A for about the millionth time. John is perfect every time I watch. I love all his movies, but this one above all showed the comedic and dramatic skills he has. He left us too soon, but what he left behind sustains the memory. God bless him. |
