Cheers to John Candy, the funniest actor ever. His films are great legacies of his work, timeless classics to me are Planes, Trains and Automobiles and Who's Harry Crumb. My husband and young son laugh and laugh each time we watch them. Thank you for making us happy.

I just got the Uncle Buck DVD and at the end when he goes to leave the family they freeze frame on him waiving goodbye, and a tear came to my eye. I can't believe after all this time that I still react the way I do to him leaving us. Whats up with John Hughs, his DVD releases have no extras, and he said there is a three hour version of Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. Well Dammit I want to see it! Can't someone do something about this!

I am so glad there is a website dedicated to John Candy. We have been watching his great performance on Uncle Buck over the past couple of days on TV1. When I checked the internet about when he died I was shocked to see it was in 1994! It does not seem that long ago - that was just before my first child was born. Anyway, I will continue to check out the site and show my kids what a great entertainer John Candy was...

Mr. Candy left behind a legacy of great films that, to this day, no one has been able to top. I keep his memory alive every time I watch the great outdoors on my family's annual camping trip. It just wouldn't be a week of fishing without that film.

To John Candy's children. Your Father was a great comedian and the cool thing about that is his memory lives on forever through the films he has done. I will always remain a fan of him.

Very funny man, will always watch anything he is in. Comedys loss is heavens gain. His warmth always shines through every performance.

Exellent site to one of the greatest actors ever known. An actor who can always bring a smile. Never will there be another John Candy, so I am glad to see a site that will pass on the legacy. Maybe there is hope for the next generation; who are growing up in a time of bad music, television, and movies, after all. How could you grow up without having been told to carry a razorsharp hatchet in your trunk just in case? Not possible. Pass it on.

Anything going to be added from the CFL Tribute in 2007?

This site is great well done ,john was without doubt the funniest actor of our time ,but at the same time in a blink of a eye he could leave you with a lump in your throat or a tear in your eye,ive just watched planes trains ,the scene near the end at the train terminal, when steve martin comes back for him, gets me everytime ,im yet to finish the film without a tear ,a fitting tribute to john was about 3 weeks ago at my friends son school open day ,they had a quiz about all the countries in the world and what there famous for ,so when the teacher came to canada a young girl about 13yrs old put her hand up after being asked by the teacher what is canada famous for ? the young girl replied john candy .

John Candy is terribly missed by me and several of my friends. As his daughter said in the interview that was posted on this website, the memories of him will never be forgotten because of the movies that are always on tv. I own several of them. Each year when we go to the beach, I make sure I take a few of John Candy's movies with me, mainly Summer Rental and The Great Outdoors. When I looked at his biography, I could not believe it has been 14 yrs. since he passed away. He will never be forgotten.

It is a rare thing to find such a fine and greatly admired comedy actor nowadays. He was a genius and every time I watch his films it makes me feel warm inside. Whenever your feeling low .... watch a John Candy film ... makes me laugh till I cry and makes me feel so much better ... not many other actors can make that kind of impact. Will be forever remembered.

Where are videos of Camp Candy? As a child, I watched it every saturday morning for a good while. May God bless his children and family, and I will enjoy my all of my childhood memories with Mr. John Candy.

I watched "Uncle Buck" for the first time since 1989 last week. I forgot how believable and funny John Candy was. I really miss John Candy. I think he was one of my very favorites.
Good interview.
Cheers,
John Brown
