for me by far his best movie was -planes,trains,& automobiles.it was really funny, but at the same time you felt sorry for him.he was a great actor that did not get enough recognition for his films.he will always be a favorite of mine.i'll miss him forever. r.i.p. john. god truly got a great man.

I've always said that if I could have met one celebrity it would have been John Candy. I wish he had been in my family. I imagine him bursting through the door on Thanksgiving with a big grin and all the children running to him to get a hug.

I'm poking around on the Internet today and watching TV, and just watched "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles." I'll never forget watching the video of the movie a few days after John died, and I sobbed at the end when he walks in to have Thanksgiving dinner with the Pages. John starred in some of the best comedies ever, and would have been in more had he not left us too soon. But the great thing is, we can always watch one of those classics and he's still the funny man we all love. Thanks for giving John Candy this place on the web, and for giving us fans a chance to contribute.

I live in Dublin ,Ireland and am a big fan of John and was, like a lot of his other fans, deeply saddened at his passing at such a young age. Its so sad to think we will never see him perform his comic magic again. Thankfully I still have some of his movies left to see. Miss you John, hope you are at peace.

First I have to say that I`m writing from Germany - sorry for my english. I`m 25 years of age and a huge fan of John Candy - I don`t have to say that I miss him, too. Just wanted to say that your site is a very fine tribute to him. Also for me it is more then interesting to see some rare videos. Here in Germany not all of his wonderful performances are shown on TV - or even are released on DVD! Again thanks for remembering him.

My first encounter with the larger-than-life persona that was John Candy was when I was 13 years old and my dad took me to see Stripes at one of our local theatres. There have been many great comedians throughout the decades, but I cannot think of any more versatile than John Candy. He is truly missed.

When I was in the 5th grade I lived in Las Vegas. Summer Rental was playing in the movie theater by or house. So that Sat I walked to the theater and snuck into the film. My 2 yr's in Vegas I snuck into like 50 films. Anyway that movie sold me on this great man. From that point on I saw every film he made in the theater. And yes I paid for them. I was watching Uncle Buck on VHS at the same time I read about him passing in Mexico on the set of Wagon East. GREAT FILM by the way. I wich I know what scene was his last from that movie? RIP JOHN Marry X-MAS 2007 Buddy.

Hi my name is Susan Cook I am from Toronto and of coarse I am a John Candy fan. I was only 16 when he passed away but that day I think all Canadians felt the loss. Every time I watch one of his movies I cant help but get in a good mood, he just had a certain way about him that drew people to him. I was never lucky enough to meet him but my husband did and he said that John was just a super super down to earth person. His memory will live on forever and he will continue to keep people laughing through his movies. He will always be remembered as a great Canadian and most importantly a great person.

Hi there,My name is Rob from Taunton Somerset in England. i just want to say i have been a John Candy fan since well into the 80`s.Umm it`s a pleasure for me to know that there are many JC.Fans out there,who share the same thoughts and fondness for this great man,that unfortunatley is no longer with us.(RIP)Such a shame. I watch fondly his films and probably like you all,have a lump in my throat when the end of Uncle Buck comes around, and the final sequence when he waves at Tia.Like i have read,that is his way of saying goodbye.
